Everyone needs a cozy neighborhood bar, right? After checking Scofflaw, the latest addition to the Logan Square scene, I’ve determined that this is the ultimate weeknight, catch-up-with-friends-on-comfy-couches bar. They’re known primarily for their gin drinks, but I couldn’t resist ordering a steady sequence of Hop Stoopid and fellow members of the Lagunitas family. Scofflaw ranks high on the aesthetics scale; Victorian-era furniture, a cozy lounge-type area in the back and handsomely illustrated menus all contribute to the charm. But (spoiler alert) the highlight of the evening had to be the round of warm cookies served all around at midnight.
Good stuff – check Scofflaw out in person at Armitage and Kedzie or on the interwebs at scofflawchicago.com.
